Abstract

Global weather patterns are greatly impacted by climate change, which makes droughts more frequent and severe. Particularly in areas with limited capacity for adaptation, the effects of drought are made worse by rising temperatures and altered precipitation. The strengths and limitations of commonly employed drought indices in addressing climate-driven droughts are reviewed in this paper. According to the study, it is necessary to create novel hybrid drought indices that are more pertinent to the study area and make use of AI and remote sensing capabilities. It emphasizes how monitoring and mitigation techniques can be improved by integrating modern tools that include remote sensing and machine learning. The study's emphasis on practical insights is intended to assist researchers and decision-makers in developing resilient frameworks to address the continuing challenges posed by climate change.
